Hi, I’m Chanda Lockhart.

[she/her]

I love fundraising and marketing. I might be the last fundraiser who believes (most) events are still worth it (if you know what your goal is going in). I believe we should always ask, and the worst thing that can happen is a “no.”

I bring two decades of fundraising, marketing and leadership experience from small, grassroots to mid-size nonprofit organizations with missions serving PK-12 education, LGBTQIA+ services, food access and security, and the arts.

I’m excited to start working with you on your next project!

I love working with San Francisco Bay Area-based nonprofit organizations that are serving youth, families, educators, and historically and multiply-marginalized folks. These are just a few of teams I’ve worked with:

  • Nonprofit teaching kitchen on a mission to empower our community with the confidence and creativity needed to buy, cook, and eat good food. Projects include annual strategic fundraising and comms plan development, leadership coaching, EOY appeal strategic planning, and 18th anniversary marketing plan. I will be interim head of development in summer 2026.

  • Elevate California (c4) is a vehicle to mobilize California residents in support of common-sense policies - by working with the California legislators. I am currently providing fractional marketing and donor cultivation support.

  • Mandela Partners works in partnership with local residents, family farmers, and community-based businesses to improve health, create wealth, and build assets through local food enterprises in limited-resource communities. I am currently working one a month-long fundraising audit and strategic fund development guidance to the ED and development team.

  • Mariposa Kids’ mission is to support and inspire children’s natural curiosity and independence through free play during their out-of-school time.

  • An independent Montessori infant to 8th grade school in Chicago’s Near North neighborhood. I am leading their Play with Purpose $2M capital campaign to build a new playground for the campus.

  • Queer A.F. features the work of Bay Area artists across all mediums with a focus on the work of underrepresented, disenfranchised, and emerging local Queer artists and makers, while minimizing financial barriers. We are a place of creativity, connection, and healing for the Queer community and those who love us.

  • The parent-led organization started in 2020 as concerned parents working together to put kids first in an online setting. They now have 7k parent members fighting to keep excellent equitable education at the top of SFUSD priorities. I am currently serving as fractional head of development strategy, and designed/launched their 2030 Rising campaign.
